Currents from a distant mind
drift through time’s fluttered pages—
not the cries of conquest,
but the soft tread of thought.
In dawn’s muted light,
wisdom reverberates
and burrows deep,
in the quiet, measured steps
of a solitary path
etched upon the soul.
Written in response to Sammi’s Weekend Writing Prompt #377 (create a 43-word poem using Reverberate) and inspired by my recent essay on the enduring wisdom of Marcus Aurelius’ Meditations for today’s youth. You can check that out here, if you’re into that sort of thing.
