Songs

I occasionally record songs under the same name I use for this site, The Truth About Tigers, and that’s where you’ll find them on Bandcamp. The main reason is that there are a couple of really talented, professional musicians I know of who share my real name—and the operative word there is professional. Them, not me.

I’ve always thought of myself as a writer first and a musician much, much farther down the list, and I mostly see music as another vehicle for delivering language. I’m not a great singer, and I kind of suck at guitar, and my recordings tend to be simple and unpolished, often just vocals and guitar on a single track, usually recorded in a less-than-ideal studio (ok, a shed in the backyard) on a MacBook. So if you’re here looking for big production or technical perfection, I’m afraid you taken a wrong turn, but I’m glad you’re here anyway!

P.S. Bandcamp made me create an album name, so I went with “I Wouldn’t So Much Call It An Album,” since “album” w1 ould suggest some level of intention, cohesion, or professional follow-throughThis is more a loose, evolving collection of home-recorded acoustic folk demos.
