The Truth About Tigers

Beyond the Muted Glow

Fear-lashed fences
guard realms unseen,
where demigods laugh
and stake their claim.

Step softly, child,
shadow-veiled blind
to what lies beyond
the lamp’s muted glow.

Where pleas and prayers
fall useless as tears;
may wit and wisdom
be your steadfast guides.

      Thank you so much, Lia! This was one of those where you just sit down and start typing with no theme or destination in mind, and just see where the words take you. I’m so glad you like it.
